THE GERMAN FUTURES

After three fantastic days of sunshine, sporting excellence and an organization on a tour-level, the first German futures in Golf Valley came to a successful end. With a laughing and a crying eye, as many golfers told us. Laughing eye because they had a lot of fun within the group of 130 participants from 16 nations and both the organization and the side events (hit the paddle boat on the big lake, Longest Drive and much more) were "unforgettable", "simply cool" and "so much fun ". Crying eye because the tournament is over: many of the young golfers have never played on a tour course with this length, these challenges (bunkers, waste areas, …) and above all this green speed (> Stimp 12, on the final day even Stimp >13).

Golf Valley, its many volunteers and the numerous spectators created goose bumps and a great atmosphere on the rounds.

Even the TV team at Sky Sport HD, the numerous press representatives and the mayor of the municipality of Valley Mr. Andreas Hallmannsecker were overwhelmed by the performance and the overall conditions.

The all-inclusive program for the players has been rounded off with an airport shuttle, a permanent hotel shuttle, a round-the-clock player service as well as excellent catering by the team of the Golf Restaurant Valley.

Managing Director Evelyn Weichselgartner speaks of a complete success and would like to repeat the format next year. Golf Valley and its helpers have produced an international tournament format; breathed the air of the golf tours and want more in the future.

The highlights were in the boys/men competition, as well as in the girls/women competition, the fight between two very talented international youngsters againgst two local German international from Golf Valley. Sarina Schmidt (18) lost after a three-day fight on the last hole against the only 13-year-old Pia Babnik from Slovenia, who answered briefly in the winner's interview on Sky Sport HD to her future: "I want to be number one in the world" (winner U14 and Best Female Player). According to her father, the Babnik family had two more sons playing in the U14, who finished third and fifth, Pia will be at the top in 5 to 10 years. Sarina can look back on three successful rounds and win the class U18.

In the boys/men competition, Felix Krammer (16) was close to beat the Dutch ex-rugby player Aydan Verdonk (21). As a "longhitter" with drives of up to 360m and iron hits over 260m, Aydan was the secret star in Valley. On the first day of the tournament, he played course record (6673m from white tees) with only 66 shots and six under par. After day 1, local champion Felix was seven shots down and impressively fought back hole by hole to compete with Aydan. Felix was not impressed by Aydan’s force and kept cool until he was just one down on the 15th hole on the last day. But Aydan secured his thin lead just over the finish line and is the deserved winner of the first German futures (U21 and Best Male Player). Felix Krammer predominantly wins the class of the U16 and proudly says in the interview that he is glad about the great support of Golf Valley and wishes the golf course further attention and a great future in golfing.

It is particularly pleasing for GC München Valley that seven local talents were playing in the German Futures and respresenting Golf Valley: Sarina Schmidt, Felix Kramer, Johannes Hounsgaard (on day 2 with the best day result of 71 shots), Niklas Gimmy, Alexander Martin and Lorenzo Laböck. A great experience for all of them, and for some even the first international tournament of their young career.

Everybody is already looking forward to next year, when the slogan will again be: "Make your future count now" at the second German Futures 2018 in cooperation with Global Junior Golf and Golf Valley.
